Job Offer........
Pre-Assessed..
I send my spousal application package on August 15 to the Missusauga Processing Centre. I have not received any acknowledgement or step 1 approval (sponsorship approval) as of yet.

I saw on the CIC website that they are processing September 30, 2012 intakes.

Has any one who send package to Missisauga in the month of August this year received anything yet?

here is the thread for you. I think you should have gotten something by now...lots in the September thread have already.

You should call CIC as you are over the average processing time. They will have to respond to your request. Did you track your package to know when it was delivered to Mississauga?

I mailed it on August 16th by Canada Post Express Post with Signature Verification. It was delivered and signed by someone with initial JAN on the morning of August 17th.

I have used a paid representative (I mmigration Lawyer) and have used his address/ e-mail in the forms as per guidelines. The Lawyer has not informed me anything as of yet.

I was able to view the status of my application by providing the payment receipt number and my wife's information at CIC's application status website.

It only says these:

Application received on August 17th, 2012
Medical report received

So, at this I am not sure yet if the step 1 is complete or not ( that is whether they have approved me as a sponsor or not).

Do they provide this information on their website?

That is really all your ecas is going to say until the vo start actually processing your application, which could be a few months down the road. Under sponsorship, it should now say Decision made and then when u click on it, it will say when CIC-M received your application (August 17th) and if you have been approved to sponsor then it will say that A Decision has been made and a letter has been sent to you on *whatever* date. You can only view the sponsor information though if you get the sponsor's UCI#. If you log in with application number or applicant UCI then u won't see the sponsor stuff. CIC received my application on August 23rd, and I was approved to sponsor on Oct. 9th, so I'm pretty sure you've been approved to sponsor by now. Your lawyer might just be slow in providing u with that information.... or maybe the letter got lost in the mail, which does happen from time to time.

I would try calling the call centre and speak to an agent and confirm with them that you're approved to sponsor and that your application has been sent off to singapore.

From another thread I read, apparently medicals are usually received after stage one approval. Your first point of contact really should be your representative or lawyer. If you haven't contacted them, don't wait. Stay on top of your application even if you have a representative. You are their client. Request them to get the information for you because your application is over the processing time.

Good luck. I'm using a rep too and I'm always on their rears about getting my info. They're not personally invested so they may not take the initiative.

I found out from my representative that he did receive a letter from Missisauga office saying I have been approved as a sponsor. He got the letter a month ago (my sponsorship applicatin was received on August 17th) but since then have lost that letter. He told me that at this point the application was sent to the regional processing centre which in my case is Singapore. So, I guess, my wife has to wait till the Singapore office Visa Officer takes a look at the file. I am aware that Singapore office processing time is very very long.

My question is since in the application, we put the representative's mailing address, phone number, e-mail address (as per instructions in the appropriate forms), does the Singapore office contacts my wife in her home country (her present address is also in the form naturally) or they send a notice only to our representative in Canada?

Is it possible to check the status without the UCI#?

I'm pretty sure that everything will go through your representative, but it's possible the vo could call your wife. You never really know when it comes to cic.

As for checking online, do either you or your wife have a previous application with Canada, like a TRV or any other type of visa? If so the UCI# will remain the same. You do need an application number or uci # to be able to check online.

If you don't have any previous application for into Canada then I would call the call centre in Mississauga and tell them what happened and hopefully they will give you your uci# or application #. It's worth a shot and that way you won't be 100% in the dark while waiting for Singapore to open your application.

ps: How could your rep lose the AOR? Pretty irresponsible considering this is their job. Was it sent to the rep by email? Maybe they can have a good look and find it in there.
