I'm a Canadian who married (have Canadian marriage certificate) with a Japanese 24 years ago and living in Thailand for last 18 years. We are thinking to go back to Canada. I read one of requirement to sponsor a spouse is financial support. As I have not been lived in Canada nor will have a job at the time we go back, how do I do this part ? and minimum requirement is how much ?
Also which Canadian embassy or visa center (?) to deal with ?

You need to start by reading through the immigration guide on the CIC site.

There is no minimum income requirement for spousal cases. You need to prove that you will not go on welfare. Having a history of working and being employable will help. If you have family in Canada that would be willing to support you at first, then get them to put that in writing.

As your spouse is Japanese, they should be processed through Manila, after sending all your documents to Mississauga. As you've been living in Thailand, you could choose Singapore, but since the processing times there are much longer, I would not recommend it.

Thank you for your reply.
I realized immigration guide on the CIC site after my post. I read through and very useful. Thnak you again.
