where can I get legal name change document for Spouse

Hi All,

I am applying for PR in express entry Calgary, since I am claiming points for my wife's educational document. I need to provide legal name change document.

I do have marriage certificate which has her name before marriage.
I do have her Indian passport which has her name after marriage.

After marriage I have not created any legal name change document in India

Where can I get legal name change document created in Toronto? BLS or Indian consulate?

What is procedure?

You will be fine to upload the passport and marriage certificate as the evidence.

Create a sample name change Affidavit on plain paper and take it to a notary for attestation.Couple of points:

1) Your wife need to go with you
2) You also need to take the originals with you which shows her previous and current name

I did the same around 2 months back.

You could explain your case in LOE and add a note in case any further information are required then to contact you. That should be sufficient
