Me and my family claimed for refugee in 2016 within Canada and our passports were confiscated at the same time. The decision was made last year 2017 declaring us as Protected Person, it has been 2 years now and still we have not received our passports. Also including that our PR application is in process.

Can anyone please tell me when is the possibility to get our passports back?

Why would you need your passports back? You aren't supposed to travel on them anyways.

That was not really the concern, I still wznt to know when will I be getting it ?? Any idea.
Also are you aware of which travel document can I apply for to travel?

you do not need your passport for anything. If you want to travel you need your refugee travel documents instead. If they are not accepted in some countries then you cannot travel there until you will become Canadian citizen. As being in a safe country is more important than to be able to travel.

If you will use your passport to travel anywhere or renew it you will risk to loose status in Canada (including PR and that is until you become Canadian citizen).

So they will return it to you but you do not need it.
Hence your question does not have any sense.

I can not travel back home but I can travel other places. I want to travel to US for some family reasons.

As mentioned, you are not supposed to use your passport to travel anywhere.
Simply using your country's passport is akin to asking for their protection and services while traveling. This can possibly lead to termination of your PR status.
