Hello,
I had a question about extending the study permit (at LaSalle of Vancouver, private college). My study permit is expiring on 02/23/19 and would like to know if it's ok to apply for an extension in mid-October, which would be approximately 4 months in advance, or whether that would be considered too soon?
Looking here it seems you can do it at least 30 days before, but it doesn't specify how much in advance: https://www.canada.ca/en/immigratio...canada/extend-study-permit/when-to-apply.html
In other places I've seen you can do it between 30 and 90 days, and to not apply more than 3 months earlier than the expiration or it may be returned as unprocessed unless you are able to justify why you need to apply more than 90 days in advance.
Does anyone know if there's a strict rule of 30 to 90 days, or anytime between 3 to 4 months should be fine as well? Also, is there any difference between public and private colleges?
Thanks,
A*
