As I have only 22 months and 15 days of work experience but due to some reason system is rewarding me points according to two years.
I started First job from Jan 15,2015 till March 2016.
Second Job Start From July 15,2016 till today( i.e. March 22,2017)

CIC counts work experience in months worked, say your job started May 31st you would get credited for a full month of work for May according to CIC. According to your work experience you provided in your message I counted you having exactly 24 months experience.

This is not accurate. It is true that the EE system counts experience that way, but IRCC tells you that YOU are responsible for correctly calculating your experience, and visa officers use exact dates (dd/mm/yyyy).

Since the 2nd year of experience affects CRS points (not eligibility), as long as you have completed the 2nd year before you submit your eAPR, then you will keep your points.

If you lose the points, as long as your adjusted score remains above the minimum score for your draw, you will still be eligible.

I and my gcms notes from my application in early 2016 disagree. Visa officers don't use exact dates. How the EE system and VO's determine work experience is the same. It is the responsibility of the applicant to accurately provide work experience on the EE profile and the responsibility of the officer to verify the information as accurate.

And yes I agree If you lose the points, as long as your adjusted score remains above the minimum score for your draw, you will still be eligible.

Regardless of how VOs write notes, IRCC calculates work experience by counting weeks. Can't count weeks without exact dates.

I took screen shots of what I submitted to CRA after I received my invitation to apply in express entry before submitting my application. Under work experience there is no place where you can input the day you sated and ended work, just the year and month. I guess the officer could look at the letter requested from your employer to see dates where you stated and ended work but from my experience that is not the case.

A third party in this conversation would definitely help lot. Be that as it may, if you count you experience by month you just barely have 2 years of experience. That is not a comfortable situation to be in when you apply. On my second pr application that is still pending I declined a few invitations to gain more experience and wait for the points to drop to create some wiggle room for myself if there is an issue with my application and I lose some points for some reason.

My first application in early 2016 the express entry system asked you to disclose all works experience, I had 22 months of eligible work experience and 4 months or non valid work experience. Ee system calculated that I had 26 months of valid work experience because at that time the system didn't distinguish between noc codes. Visa officer rejected my application because I only had 22 months of work experience not 2 years so I lost points. That issue with express entry system has since been fixed. But with those 22 months of experience some of those months of experience I only worked 3 or 4 days in those months.

Hi Asad. As per the provided dates of your experience, your first term of experience makes a 14 and a half months (14.5 months) and your second experience has given you a 8 month of experience (8 months if counted till 15th of March 2017). Both together makes 22.5 months in whole even if we count it in weeks, as per the start date. If you keep working for another few days, till 30th of April 2017 to be precise, you will gain the complete experience of 2 years. My suggestion is to wait until that date and then accept the invitation. I guess you still will be having enough time before your ITA expires. Just don't rush to accept it before you complete your whole term of 2 years. Mean while you can go ahead and get other documents ready like police clearances, job description letters etc.;Its better to eliminate the doubts than being in doubt for the whole time of process. Thanks.

Hi ,

I have worked from 7 July 2012 to 23 May 2014 under one particular NOC Code (outside Canada). Do I enter 1 year or 2-3 years while using the come to Canada tool?

I have work experience of January 27, 2015-August 20, 2018 [2 yrs 6 mo 25 days] and also January 10, 2014-April 10, 2014 [4 mo]. How many years will this be counted as work exp in EE (foreign work exp category) - 2 years or 3 years? Also, points are same for 2 years or 1 year of Foreign work exp. ?
Based on some posts here, seems CIC counts number of months. In that case it seems my 1st work wxp is [2 yrs 8 mo ] and second is [ 4 mo ]- so [36 mo=3 yrs] . But clearly by counting days or weeks, it is short of 3 years by [1 mo 5 days or 5 weeks]. Hence I have this doubt.
Really need some advice.
TIA

Hi
As per my analysis CIC will count as 2yrs only. Actually if you count your experience its not 3yrs or 36 months fully.
