Job Offer........
Pre-Assessed..
I mailed off my extension on June 30, 2009.

So I am wondering, when do you think I can expect a response?

hello,
please do say more - extension of what?

according to this timeline they work now on applications received June 19, 2009

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/times/canada/process-in.asp#temp_res

So have they not started looking at mine yet?
And the processing time, is that how many days from the time they start looking at it until I get something back from them?

I need to be able to be here a month longer so I can acheive common-law status and I am afraid that I will hear back from them before then.
Do you think I will be able to be here another month?

Also, this is what someone on another forum posted when I asked this question. They make me think I will hear something from them like this week. Is that how it works?

Here is the message they posted:
No, that's not what it means
For example
From and including: Tuesday, June 30, 2009
To, but not including : Monday, October 12, 2009

It is 104 days from the start date to the end date, but not including the end date

So approx 104 days from when it was received
Otherwise you'd be looking at 6+ months

What did they mean by all of this?

they might have already started working on your application, as on-line dates are always somewhat late.
one can never be sure how many days they process the application. but you can hear from them any time within the following 3 weeks or maximum a month (including mailing time).
if they approve you will definitely have 3 more months to stay, - I heard they usually extend from the date you set in your application.
even if they deny they will order you to leave within a month, so it will work for you any way.
have a good luck.
and yes, it's 104 days from the date they received your application.

So that means I won't have 104 days to hear back from them about the extension?

I was kind of hoping so, considering I don't want to leave this soon. :(

Ok now you have to STOP demanding answers like this on here and the other forum!!! We are NOT IOs, VOs or employees of CIC who actually are the only people who can accurately tell you what exact processing time is! This stuff changes all the time. It's dependent on several factors that we are not privy to like, oh maybe how many applications they've received on any given day! More applications means more time to process.

I don't know actually what are you trying to say, but I think you will hear from them within a month about your visa extension.
If it's successful, you will have about 3 more months to stay, if not, just a month after getting a letter from them with instructions.

The processing is very unpredictable and there is no way for us to know anything about it. In my visitor extension case it was approved many times faster than what it said on the site, and even though I only asked for 6 months from my date of application, they actually gave me 1 year from the date of approval.

What did you put as your reason for wanting to stay longer?

Did you put a date you wanted to have the extension to?

How long was it from when you mailed it off until you received your approval?

What did you include with your extension?

Also when they give you 30 days.
Is that 30 days from the day you receive the letter?
Or would it count 30 days starting the day they mail the letter which by the time you receive it would be 20 days?

Dude....Dudette....

They are processing apps recieved up to June 19th. It takes average 104 days. They may or may not be processing yours.

Chill the heck out

Everyone is answering you on numerous boards with the same result - no-one knows every answer for sure, the only people who know are CIC and God.

Sheesh every other question is from you, asking the same question in different ways. You have the answers, you havre the websites, guides etc. Review them all and take the chance, or don't. But please, calm yourself down otherwise people will end up not answering a relevant question when you have one.
