I have been an MBA student for a year. I have 1 more year to go before I graduate (hopefully will have a full-time offer by May 2014).

What is the earliest point in time at which I can apply for the CEC? Also, is there any link where I can read up more on the *timelines* specifically?

There's no earliest time. You can apply as soon as you meet the requirements. As it is right now, you need 1 year of Canadian Skilled Work experience (full time or equivalent part time).

Finish MBA -> Work one year - > Apply

you have long time to go brother..

Ouch, that's what I had thought. So essentially, the earliest I can apply is on May 2015 (assuming I work for 12 months immediately after graduating in May 2014).

Also, does this have to be 12 months of continuous full-time work? As in, if I start full-time on May 2014 and take a 1-month vacation in December 2014, does that then mean that I can only apply on June 2015?

If you get a job right after your graduation that is full-time (at least 30 hours a week according to your requirements) and your vacation leave is paid then you don't have to worry.

If it is not paid for then you have to compensate for the month you'll be on vacation. So essentially it is 12 months of full-time work. And 13 if you're taking your vacation for 1 month.

Seniors correct me if I am wrong...

As others have noted, you would have to work for a year before applying.

If you are in Ontario and complete a Master's Degree, you might be eligible to apply sooner under the Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) Opportunties Ontario.

If you are in another province, you'll have to look at that province's offerings...
