Hi Bilal,

I think when you order GCMS notes and next to Security status is blank, it means it started and they are hiding the info. Otherwise, it would say "Not Started". Now if you are asking if they are actively working on it, I am not sure if there is a way to tell.

Background check involves different types of checks like criminality, credentials, and security. Bilal is asking about the security test in particular. On the account we access using GCKey, it would say Background Check In Progress but does not tell what stage/step of background check they are at.

Yes u right but since i linked my application only recently, i don't know when it started, is there another way to know when the date started of processing background check?

Hey , yeah its true but i ordered GCMS notes 2 month ago , i know it already started , but how do we know what date it started , they been telling me since August 2016 that my application is undergoing security verifications, lol been almost 8 to 9 month in this stage.

I had additional document request, which was received by embassy on March 3 2017....

On March 9 2017..."MY BG IN PROGRESS".......

"BG IN PROGRESS" is good sign ? means i passed eligibility ???

"bg in progress" after few days of they received my documents/photos....means they pass my eligibility based on photos and other proof I provided them ?????

Usually starts when criminality was last updated. You can find that date in your notes

Makes sense actually but how sure are you? My husband's criminality check status changed to passed mid of December. If that is true, the security check started 3.5 months ago. Hopefully we hear from them soon.

how can you tell security is started from gcms notes. can you kindly help in detail or paste relevant section from your gcms after hiding your personal info. I will really appreciate.

I called my MP and she explained how the process works. Once criminality is cleared, they initiate security immediately. My security has been going on for 13 months..

means i passed all eligibility ??
means all positive ?

why so long? Do you have a common name, excessive travel, or military service etc. Some people get ppr within a few weeks of med pass. I wonder what causes long time.
