Thanks Amanda10. I have a question for everybody who wish to help me. The final document was received before the visa officer drive to Decision Made and the final review will be October 30,2013. Here is my question: Will the VO grant or deny the application on that day? Please people comment on my question or sen me a link for a similar case. Thanks

What is BF'D ? --EXPLAINED >>>

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

All about BF'D :
-Only for some of us who didn't know...

BF'D is an acronym for "Bring Forward Date" in the Canadian PR processing system. Usually our file moves from BF'D to BF'D, as it is the day/date next earmarked by our VO to check our file. This actually serves to eliminate unnecessary clogging of the system... that if there is nothing further to add in a particular file, the VO moves to another case file to work on, rather than holding onto the same one.

What happens on a BF'D
In simple terms it is the date that the file will be looked at [again], assessed, reviewed by your case handling officer at the CHC. S/he will check if anything is lacking, any further queries to be made [to you], any documents to be asked or if any decisive action is to be made/taken. Basically it serves as a 'Reminder Tool' to the case processing officer & that your file is not 'forgotten'.

Now, if the VO observes that something is lacking [that which was asked for], s/he will probably attempt to contact you on this BF'D day and mark another BF'D on your file. This depends on the subject of check [the all time phrase 'Case-to-Case' basis]. Sometimes, if the check report warrants, the VO might not give you another opportunity and take a decisive action. Note: The situation is fluid & no one can really provide a sanguine comment on it.

Expect a Decision Made on that day since everything is ready.

Hey Guys, I have 3 questions which I need some knowledgeable people to address them.

1. In what circumstance that vo office can extend applicant's medical examination without contacting him/her?
2. Can the applicant request his/her medical extend two weeks before their expire?
3. Will the file be still looked at even by a vo if the police clearance is expired but medicals are 2 months shy from expiring?

Please I need your feedback and thank you.

1). The medical extension is an internal process and doesn't need to involve you. The request to extend depends on where the application is in processing.
2). You can't make the request. See 1).
3). The PCC is normally valid for one year. If they want a new one, they will ask.

Thank you for your response Zardoz. another question:
1. who extend that medical and how long it takes to be done?

The visa officer makes the request. It is up to the medical office to allow or reject the request. It's all documented on the CIC website. http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/resources/manuals/op/op15-eng.pdf Section 6.6.

I'm confused are the police checks and the medical valid for 1 year . I keep seeing police check valid for 3 months ...

Police clearance depend from the country you get it from but most countries give 1 year as compared to other who issue a 3 months one.

Incorrect. All police clearances are valid for a year once they are received by CIC. However they must be received by CIC within three months of being issued.

Dear Naomi39. Your husband needs to consult a Canadian lawyer experienced in family law. Your case is not necessarily as hopeless as at first sight appears. Your marriage (ie your husband's second marriage) is valid if your husband's first marriage was invalid. For the purpose of understanding the problem you can ignore the divorce for the moment. His first marriage you say was by procuration, which is not a term I understand; but from your subsequent posts I understand that at the time of his first marriage, in the Democratic Respublic of Congo, your husband was in Canada, and what he did was to write a letter (from Canada?) appointing his brother as his proxy to enter into that first marriage. What you need to find out is whether that first proxy marriage was a valid marriage according to Canadian law. If it was not, you are home and dry (and married!). Even if his first marriage was a valid marriage you need advice as to whether there are grounds for treating it as a void or voidable marriage. But it is a bit late in the day to raise all these legal technicalities, given that you are at the last stage of your application. Tell your husband to see a lawyer asap and if you need more time, ask the VO for an extension of time to enable you to make your

Good morning,

The application is on queue for review by an officer. We received information from the sponsor in response to our request for a divorce certificate from his previous marriage. Once the review is complete, the client/sponsor will be advised of the next steps.

Should the medicals expire, new instructions will be sent to the client if the officer decides that the client is eligible.

Guys whoever commented to my first post, here is the email from Nairobi visa office. Sound like they don't have any problem with that divorce certificate my husband sent. What is your comments?

How much is it to order CAIPS from Canada? I heard it is $5 and if you are outside of Canada is $40. I only see the option for $40.
