Hi All,
I've recently landed in Canada. All is going well, however there is one problem i'm being warned of by (almost) everyone; to add surname to my official documents.
Actually, my full name is marked as 'Given Names' in my passport (for my entire family). In my PR records, Canadian Immigration instructed me to use full name as 'Surname' and don't use First name. Here in Canada, almost everywhere we need both full name and Surname (for example, admitting kids to school needs both names). I'm thinking of adding Surname in my documents. Does anyone has such experience or know anyone who has added surname after landing in Canada? I need the process required and its impact on PR status.
Thank you for your help in advance.
