I am sending my application this month.

I came here in 2008 as a refugee.. had my hearing in 2010 and became a PR in 2011

From Jan 2010 to sept 2010 i lived in an apt where the landlord was just a guy who manages the apt for his interest and collect the rent cash. he signed me a letter when i moved out ( word document ) stating i lived in that address and paid my rent and kept the place in a good shape. he signed his name, and cell number

From Oct 2010 till now i have been living with in the same place

I tried to get in touch with the previous landlord just to get an official letter in case i needed that for an RQ but his phone number changed and a new guy took over the property right after I moved out of there.

so practically the time from Jan 2010 till sept 2010 i have no official letter about rent ( I have tons of statements, letters, health records and i had an appointment for my hearing as a refugee when I used to live in that address, )

Should I go ahead and apply for citizenship now? or should I wait till October so I take that address out of the 4 year period prior to my citizenship ? please give me the best advise you can, I am so confused. i have completed my 1095 today and was planning to send my application after two weeks. ( I only had one trip after I became a PR before that I was a refugee i could not leave the country )

I appreciate your replies

I'd say that the first letter you have from your old landlord is fine. Also the fact that you have bank statements and other official documents mailed to that address should help you.

if you have some other proof for that period, you should be ok.

even if that word document you have, keep it up. it has cell number, even if it is changed, whenever that phone was taken , that guy would have provided some ID like driving license or something. so whatever doc you have keep it and whenever interview comes tell them the truth.

make sure you have credit card statement or bank statement which you have used in that period of time, which would work.

no need to wait

Thank you very much guys...

i do have lots of papers when i lived there.. In fact like I said I was a refugee waiting for my hearing so Immigration and refugee board sent me a letter to appear before the board during that period.

If you have other ways to proof your physical presence such as work paper, bank statement, phone bills, etc.
Don't waste your time waiting. Apply for your citizenship and best luck.
