What will spouse do if he/she got divorce????

One of my frnd is going through an unwanted scenario ...... Divorce. That couple was applied on Feb 2006. In last Aug 2009 they were asked to re submit of the docs and accordingly they ve submitted all the docs in time. Nothing happened after that.....still waiting for further correspondence of CIC.

But now that couple is going through divorce. What will happened to the spouse/ dependents of the primary applicant???? Is there anyway to change the status of the dependent's as a primary applicant.

It is logically understandable that, as the file is still running under preliminary stage there is no way that a dependent can be a permanent applicant.....but i would like to know the fact.....anyone plsssss

just try to understand each and try to help each other until your case finialize and once you guys receive PR visa then decide what ever you guys wants. but I can say May God bless this relationship stronger not to sepration.
