Just out of curiosity, how late was your FBI background check sent? or how much time did they give you?

Yeah can you elaborate here? I was given a notice to send in my FBI clearance even though I already had. Now I'm afraid they will refuse my application because mine was sent technically a week or so before they asked. They gave me 60 days, and basically sent me a generic "shut up" letter when I tried to explain I already sent it (with proof of signature of delivery). It was a copy-paste letter. I've seen it word for word around here. Did they even bother to read my proof? I don't even know with a copy-paste letter. Every day that goes by closer to that FBI clearance due-date makes me feel sick.

I'd send them all the evidence possible that you already submitted it (even if you already did this). I would also suck up the cost and have it done again. I'm stuck paying almost $1,000 for my screwup.

I didn't even know I only had 60 days to send it. The requested it in Feb. and finally closed my case in December. It was entirely my fault.

So you didn't send any sort of communication after they requested it right?
I just requested a second copy yesterday just in case this happens to me, but I just got SA so i might have time..

That's correct. I didn't send them any correspondence. You'll likely be fine.

I had to reapply. I'm back at the beginning of the process. :(

Oh, so your October application is your second?? That really sucks! Hope you have more success with this one!

They emailed me to let me know that my case had been refused. I sent a letter explaining what had happened, but they wouldn't re-open my case. Like I said, it was entirely my fault.

I've learned a lot about the immigration process during the past two years. I didn't understand the severity of the rules and deadlines.

Best of luck to you!
