hi i'm from philippines and i have a canadian boyfriend, he is in vancouver and we are not married and we don't know what visa would i apply because canada dont have a fiance visa. what visa can i apply? and can i stay longer in canada?
so that i can stay with my boyfriend. thank you .! & God bless.

Your only option right now is a visitor visa. To be approved you will need to show that you have strong ties to your home country and have no plans on remaining in Canada long term.

I would suggest him to come to your country, get married, stay together, and then try applying for a partner visa - otherwise you hold a good chance of being refused.

This reminds me a case of my friend, due to concerns, the interview officer asked " why doesn't he come to visit you?". My girl friend surprised totally the question and hesitated the answer. She failed the visitor visa.

But showing strong ties (property, saving account, long term employment...) can help you for the visit.

In my past 15+ years as in immigrant i've seen numerous cases like this. More time consuming way is more successful long-term :)
