Hi,

I received my ITA in Nov'16, and have applied for FBI Clearance in the US. However, I had 60 days to respond to the ITA, while FBI's current processing time is 90+ days. Also, I am a non-US citizen, thus, I cannot get clearance via FBI-approved channelers. I should have started on FBI clearance before I received ITA, but now that's a thing of the past.

Is this an issue that CIC will understand if I explain in the letter? IS CIC aware of such a mismatch in timeline of processing of FBI vs. the application submission deadline of 60 days? Is there something I should send to CIC, like local police certificate, even if they don't accept it for US?

Thanks!

I request my FBI clearance in September. It has beem more than 14 weeks since envelope was delivered to FBI. No reply, no credit card charge, nothing.
I have not got ITA yet

Yes, this issue is faced by many people and CIC is well aware of it. CIC extends the deadline in these cases or gives more time to submit the same and continues with the processing.

You can write a LOE and explain the same and attach some proofs if you have, that you already requested for it.

we applied through agency in fast track...they charged $500 and provided the report in 10 business days.

If you are not a US citizen or permanent resident then this report which you got in 10 days will not be accepted by CIC.

CIC clearly mentions FBI approved channelers report is acceptable only for US Citizens and Permanent residents. For all others FBI PCC must be obtained directly from FBI.

FBI charged my credit card around 15 days ago but havent heard back from them yet. Is there some standard time to process post credit card charge? whats the best way to reach out to FBI to enquire about status?

$500?! I hate to tell you this, but it sounds like you were scammed. FBI checks rarely cost more than $50..

When did you send your documents to them? Have they charged you after 12-14 weeks or it took more time?

Yes it is through FBI Approved channeler only.

And the office people told that they have been applying the same report for PR purpose to many clients, roughly they are processing 15 applications per month. So far they haven't received any rejections from CIC.

It is acceptable for PR application.

Okay it might be "accepted" (and that's a chance to be taken if using an approved channeler when not a US Citizen) but it's not playing by the CIC's rules and could potentially lead to issues.

Also, you're paying $500 for a report in ten days, when I paid $50 and got mine literally within minutes....why not use a cheaper channeler if you're going to use one? Unless the one that charges an outrageous amount is the only one willing to do so?

in ten minutes ..... How come ? :o

Btw ...i am also getting doubt about the acceptance of FBI Approved channeler's report. However I will apply for direct FBI PCC , to be on safeside. :'(

What country are you in? There are a lot of fingerprint experts in India that claim to be able to expedite the FBI PCC process by using channelers. What really happens here is that they'll send your prints to a channeler they're in contact who will subsequently get them verified electronically by the FBI. Initially this seems to "work" because the FBI doesn't have access to your immigration status in the US so they don't really know (or care) that you're not a US citizen. CIC will not accept this PCC, though.

You should definitely get another one.

Hi Friends i got a Quick Question i can add 2 profile in one envelope and send the mail to FBI for the report. I just need to add the Finger print, credit card detais and information detail list that it right? I must be just regular mail , doesnt need to add any prepaid mail right if i am not wrong.

I had sent the documents in September sometime. I received a letter on Oct 24 that my credit card info is invalid. Not sure what happened. So i resent the credit card to their fax number on Dec 4. My card got charged sometime around Dec 10. I just checked with the customer service center today and the lady informs me that the id check is done and it has "left their office" but she has no tracking number. No idea what the last part means.
I asked her if i should expect the letter soon but she couldnt answer that. So now i am not sure what to do next. Wait for some more time? Or fax for more info and a tracking number?
