Proof of settlement funds - You must have sufficient transferable and available funds, unencumbered by debts or any other obligations. Minimum funds required for a family of 5 are $23,425. Clearly state the exact amount in Canadian dollars, taking into account any financial obligations, and provide documentary evidence. Proof of assets that are not liquid or transferable, such as cars or jewellery, will not be considered. Provide detailed translated Bank Statements for the past 6 months, please also provide an explanation for any large deposits and please show the origin of any new funds credited to your bank accounts.

experts please reply as i am really in need of help

What is the objection?

Faisal

You need to show six months of bank statements to prove that you have at least $23,425 in available cash.

If there were any large deposits into your account during this six month period, you must provide evidence to show where this money came from and prove this money is yours (not borrowed from someone else).

If you have Fixed Deposits, that will also do (but more than 6 months certificates)

do i have to show my fixed assets as well or just as per their requirement i have to show the the stated amt in the bank statement?

I will be borrowing money and will do fixed deposit this week. Is this will work or do i need to do some other thing? Please friends suggest me some options for funding for a family of 4.

dont panic sam,

just go to ur banks and tell them to give u a balance certificate not account statement.it will work.mainly people did that with no obligations or clarifications.u can attach your wife's account's balance certificate also.

if they will ask u to submit the account statements then give them but it comes in rarest of rare case.so dont worry n have faith on god n he will manage the rest.

with best wishes

Follow their request accurately. By asking for six months of statements the VO wants to see that the money is yours, hence the request to show where any large deposits originated. This money was a requirement of your approval at the start of your application process. You cannot borrow the money. It has to be yours to support yourself until you are established in Canada. If you do not provide the proof requested you may find yourself getting an interview date. Failure to prove your funds could lead to refusal so be careful.

In many cases they have not looked at bank statements at the airport. But you should be prepared to show if they ask you.

No, here u cannot give balance certificate.
They have clearly ask 6 months ownership. They will insist again and then u r gone for toss

Even making Fixed deposit recently will not help

At final stage u need to be safe. All the above can be done at initial stage and provided u r saving on regular basis

Thank u all for your replies...If i borrow money and show cic that i got that money by selling some property. I can arrange some saledeed or something else as a proof to show the source.

The amount required per person is modest by Canadian standards and you need that safety net to support yourself and your family until your employment is established. That is why the money has to be readily available and belong to you.

Sam, you cannot borrow money for settlement funds. That's illegal/fraud and would also defeat the object. Please see my other numerous posts on the subject for the details but CIC explicitly say you cannot borrow the money.

Your options for funding a family of 4 are to save up the money and apply when you have the finances to do so. If you don't have the funds, you are not eligible to apply at this time.

If you have equity in property some visa offices will allow you to use this for proof of funds but check with your visa office.

Jassnoor, why are you advising applicants to commit fraud?

Why do so many people believe the rules don't apply to them?

Agreed. If you don't actually have this money you are going to find it extremely difficult to survive in Canada when you arrive. The money is needed to make your move to Canada possible and make sure you have somewhere to live / something to eat.
