"Do you receive financial support from your sponsor?"

Here is the thing ...our was an arranged marraige with mu childhood friend , i got in contact with him like 6mths back and I got married on November 2010. I stayed in India where I got married from 10th nov - 25th nov 2010 and he made the payment for almost everything hotel stay, tickets, outing and etc. So for now we don't have any joint accounts or neither do we require any financial support at this time. So what should I exactly write on the form and what kind of additional information should I add on to this question. Any example or info would help!

Thanks In Advance bye !!

I would answer 'no' here.
You can mention that he paid for everything in your answers to other questions, or in your letter describing the relationship, if you think it is important.

Receiving financial support is good evidence that the relationship is real, but it can also backfire. I know one applicant who makes quite a lot of money, and so sent money to his sponsor in Canada, supporting her; the visa officer accused him of paying the woman to sponsor him, and his application was rejected.

So don't think that because the sponsor is not financially supporting the applicant, this is somehow a red flag. If asked about it at interview, the applicant can just state that neither party needed the other to support them financially.

I personally don't see how it is a bad thing if your sponsor is sending you money. Who would have a fake marriage and pay the person they are sponsoring as well. However, I do see how a IO would be suspicious of a person being sponsored giving the sponsor money. 1- on the outset it would appear that they are being paid to sponsor the person, and 2- you would question the sponsor's ability to support their spouse if they are in need a financial support before that person even arrives. Although it is possible, and I am not meaning to offend anyone who is in that situation. As me and my husband send each other money back in forth as needed, but I can see why it looks weird to someone on the outside.

In the OP's case, I think they are mainly asking if they have sent you any money as financial support. I don't consider paying for the wedding and such financial support. Some may however....

Canadian women and nylalisa thnks lotss..... dat should help and i would put "NO" as dat make more sense coz yea wedding and other wouldnt really count as a financial support..........and "finger crossed" hopefully ....it wouldnt go against us....i am scared but have hopes! thnks again guys!

Don't worry. If the applicant has a good job, and therefore doesn't need financial support from the sponsor, this is also a good thing - it shows the applicant is able and willing to work to support himself or herself, and will presumably try to do so in Canada as well.
