Hi Friends,

Please clarify my doubt in filling the form.

I understand that IELTS result is not must when you apply to CIO, but can be submitted later to the local visa office. But application form Schedule 3 (Economic classes), item 6 asks you:

Have your taken an approved test?
YES-> provide a copy of your results
NO-> provide evidence of proficiency

What should i select? Thanks in advance.

Just to clarify, i plan to take ielts later after i submit the application to CIO. Those of you who have done the same, what option did you choose in the application form?

If you are planing to sit the IELTS test later then you have to tick the YES box in the initial application to Sydney NS.

Cheers

Thanks dasalcedo. What confuses me is the word taken in the question, and then ask to attach copy of result. Meaning if you have already taken the exam, then you select YES.

I see that you have a docs request and a seperate ielts request in your profile. Docs request i assume is when local CHC asks you to submit the documents. Did you get a seperate ielts request also?

For CIO doesn't matter whether you tick YES or NO.

It matters for Visa Office.

Hi Videon,

If you are planning to taken IELTS then you should tick Yes as you need to send the IELTS scorecard to the local CHC.
More over from 10th April onwards IELTS is mandatory when submitting the full docs. the CHC will not ask you separately for IELTS now.

You can see the detailed discussion on this topic in the April 2010 applicant's thread

Again - CIO does not care about you ticking YES or NO, as long as tick either of them.
CIO does not check your points, nor your IELTS score - only what's on check-list, application forms (properly filled, all ticked, no blank places left), copy of your passport, address labels and payment.
