Hi!
I will try and make this as short as possible. My husband and I have spoken to a lawyer and before we ask them to write us an opinion letter on what is best for us, I thought I would ask here first! You never know.....
My husband and I want to apply for one of the economic programs that will allow us to become permanent residents in Canada!
A little bit about our scenario. My boyfriend is from England and is 25 and is currently a temp foreign worker in Victoria. Myself, 25 years old too, I am from America also on a temp foreign worker permit in Victoria. We both met each other while in school a few years ago (we both had study permits). We both finished our programs and have postgraduate permits. My husbands work permit ends in the fall of 2020 and mine ends next spring in 2019. My husband does have a family member(brother) living in Canada who is a PR too. My husband has never had any problems with the law in any country. I have one Disorderly Conduct Conviction from a silly incident 7 years ago that was paid for and have not had any trouble since (even when getting my study permit). We got married in Victoria, BC and want to spend the rest of our lives here.
Just wanted to know what would be the best option and which two economic programs would be best to apply for the get our PR. Would my conviction have any issues in this? Who should be the one applying?
