What option to choose for sponsoring my wife who is already in Canada

My wife is already in Canada on TRV and I am sponsoring her for the PR.


Which option should I choose for form imm1344e
* Spouse Living in Canada
* Spouse Living in Canada - Applying Under Family Class

You can choose either the SCPLC (Inland spousal sponsorship), or an Outland spousal sponsorship.

Even though she is in Canada, you CAN submit an outland application, which may be faster to process. The Open Work Permit (OWP) is not available to an Outland applicant but, again..the entire process may be faster.

Then apply inland. Once she gets AOR she can apply for an OWP.

If you mean in the checklist form, section 5 - the first one - spouse or common law partner in Canada class.

The other class 'in Canada, applying under the Family Class' is what is referred to as 'outland (but in Canada)'.
