Hi there,

Does anyone know what NOC number is for Fire Protection Engineer / building code consultant?
My educational background is mechanical engineering.

However, under mechancial engineer section in NOC, the job descriptions are a bit different.
It`s more for industrial maintenance, power plant design etc..

Please advise..
Thanks.

WOW is that strange, one of the bizarre injustices of the current NOC system.

Unless it fits one of these (depending on who your employer is ?) ...

http://www5.hrsdc.gc.ca/NOC/English/NOC/2006/SearchNocCodeResult.aspx?val17=226&val18=0&val19=0

... It looks like fire safety has been low-balled into a Skill Level C occupation (unless your actually a firefighter):

http://www5.hrsdc.gc.ca/NOC/English/NOC/2006/ProfileKeyword.aspx?val=6&val1=6465&val11=fire+safety&val12=0&val13=0&val14=&val15=0&val16=0

Pretty warped, if you ask me -

i have a degree in mechanical engineering.

sadly, the description in NOC about mech eng is very narrow... >:(

anyone else has any opinion?

Degree is not relevant to CIC's use of NOC codes, only the job description.
