Applied for urgent renewal (medical grounds) via portal. How long does PR card renewal take under such circumstances? I didn’t find much information online or personal experiences. Thank you

Each case is different so hard to say.

What medical grounds? If you're in Canada, barring some extraordinary circumstance, you might find that they don't see the medical grounds the same way you do.

There is also the PRTD process to assist those who are outside Canada, they would, I think, largely believe that this is the procedure intended to deal with such urgent cases.

I hope it goes well, but I don't know either. I'm disabled due to a health condition and struggle to do activities of daily living, so my doctor recommended I be under the care of direct family members. I really worry so much because of this, it seems nobody gets approved on such a basis anyway, I'm feeling hopeless.

Information you have provided still insufficient to tell you anything. You are in Canada and wish to travel abroad?

Yes, I'm in Canada (alone) and my family is in my home country (parents).

Then why do you need a PR card? You don't need a pR card to leave Canada.

When do you expect to come back? You can go there, have someone receive your PR card here in Canada, and send it to you by mail.

Or apply for PRTD when you expect to return (to be clear, well before, actually).

I am assuming - possibly incorrectly - that you are in compliance with the RO. That's a separate issue.

This is typically not what is considered as medical grounds for urgent PR renewal. Nothing stopping you from going abroad. Are you receiving any form of payments from the government related to being disabled or welfare? Are you going abroad permanently or for a short period of time? How long? This will have major impact on whether you can maintain your PR status, whether you qualify for receive any income support or replacement. Doctors are not an immigration experts or accountants so are making suggestions not considering things like your immigration status and whether leaving Canada would impact receiving benefits.

Looks like you are leaving right after completing 2 years as a PR. When does your PR card expire? When did you land as a PR? That also impacts when you can apply for PR card renewal
unfortunately I’ve lost my card. I landed in august 2021, exactly two years. I shall wait for now, and cross my fingers.
