Hi
I am working as postdoc in Canada more than 1.5 years. I am applying for PR.
I am little bit confused about skill level of 4011 code category.
It mentioned on the web that codes starting with 0 are fall in Skill level 0, but what about 4011 category.
Is it skill level 0 or A ?

Be very careful about using 4011.
According to NOC description, it is mostly about teaching, not research:

Thank you every one for your valuable comments.
Now another problem I have notice from this forum about POSTDOC 4011 category, I already posted here.
Its good discussion forum, learn a lot.
Hope some one with experience of getting PR under postdoc category help in selecting the NOC 4011 or 2112.
It could be helpful to all the people applying under postdoc category in future.
We, as postdocs spend our time and intelligence for the success of projects here but not considered as employee, provided T4A (its for bursary) not T4.
Its all confusing, if you apply as postdoc 4011, you dont match the duties because you dont teach.
cant apply under any specialized skilled category because one can not have T4 (postdocs have T4A).
Totally inadequate clarification in NOC, I was not expecting here at all but no words to say.....

I am also planning to apply under NOC 4011 - University lecturer. I have gathered all the required documents along with proof of funds, English test and ECA reports. However the ECA report I received mentions my MSc degree is equivalent in Canada is 4 years BSc degree!!

I have completed my BSc (3 Years), B.Ed (1 Year) and MSc (2 Years) with distinction grades in all the exams from Indian Unviversity. I also have 6 years experience in the same field.

My query is - Am I still eligible to apply under FSW even my ECA report shows my MSc degree is equivalent as Canadian BSc degree?? Please let me know your responses on urgent basis as I have very little time remaining to send my documents. Your help is much appreciated.

ECA report is not required under the CEC class. Don't worry about it. If you did the job and can document it (provide the documents that CIC actually requires), then it should be OK.

However - just wanted to check and make sure you really mean university, since that almost always requires a PhD. The alternative is 4012.

Unless your job duties match 4011, you should not use 4011. Since most post-docs do research, then most post-docs need to find an NOC that best matches their field. Job title DOES NOT MATTER. NOC 2112 is good if you are a post-doc in Chemistry, but not in psychology. Your job title should include your field of study - e.g. Post-doctoral Researcher - Chemistry.

FYI - the job title "Post-doctoral fellow" is also listed under NOC 4122, which has both a set of teaching duties and a set of research duties.

YES, YOU CAN. Does not matter that you have a T4A, that is not unusual for post-docs.
