My package arrived at Mississauga today, and I am now curious to know how the process is going to work.

What happens next? What should I watch for? What steps occur in what order?

I appreciate anyone who explains, and I have always browsed the forum and couldn't find anything helpful enough.

My husband and I just want to know what to expect, and to know how to spot trouble or success.

Thanks, everyone!

Hi Angel! I"m going through Buffalo too!

In about 1-1.5 months, you will get a letter from Mississauga saying if your sponsor was approved as a sponsor. From there, it will be sent to Buffalo. Buffalo has slowed down lately so it may take around 2 months to hear anything from them. The first thing you will get from Buffalo is an AOR (acknowledgment of receipt) which means they have opened your file. After that, they may or may not contact you to get more information, documents, or to set or waive an interview. After that, at SOME point, they will let you know if you are approved or not!

Buffalo seems to be working at around 4-6 months total for your run of the mill cases--no divorce, previous marriages, children, big differences in age or background, etc.

There is a thread for Buffalo people as well as a thread for August people. You'll be more than welcome at either one of those as well! :)
