What is the point score difference between applying with or without spouse?

I just want to have clarification that If I apply single handedly I ll get more points but if I apply with my spouse I ll get less points and then at the end the points become same by including my spouse points, so whats the point to claim your spouse points and spend more noney on evaluations etc if point score remains the same. Can anyone elaborate it please?
