As the CEC website states "You must have at least 12 months of full-time, or an equal amount in part-time, skilled work experience. Full-time work means at least 30 hours of paid work per week."
So 30x52=1560. does it mean as long as I have 1560 working hours within a year I will be eligible for this class?

I am (NOC skill type A) currently unemployed.

I have 1 year and 4 months work experience in Canada. the first 6 months I worked full time for an employer who I am sure can not get the letter of reference from ... and the other 9 almost 10 months I work full time for another employer who can provide me with the letter of reference.. so now my situation is.. I have 10 months experience that I can prove to the CEC and since I worked 40 hours per week, my work hours are over 1600 already.

In this case, am I eligible for the CEC?

Please help..!! im lost.....

Hi!

Eligibility for the new CEC is 12 months..NOT LESS. Even if you've worked more than 30 hours a week, CIC will look into the start date you claim working in a skill level position and not into the total number of hours you've worked exceeding the required 30 hours.

if you really cannot get a reference letter to the first employer you mentioned, you definitely won't meet the required number of hours.

I suggest you look for an employer who's willing to give you a skilled position..but this of course would take time as the employer needs to apply for a positive LMO and you a new work permit.

Good luck!
