I want to immigrate to Canada through the student visa route by completing a post diploma. I would like to know which career, a software dev or a system admin, will most likely get me a job in Canada as a foreigner with a 2 year work permit. I just want to be on the safe side here by knowing beforehand if I can't go wrong with either ?

Because I read that Canadian companies only care about Canadian work experience, and in the case of a System admin, you can't just get a junior job in the field without first starting out with a few years of experience in other fields like NOC engineer or IT specialist.

IT is of a different situation. Not only Canadian experience is considered. Skills are evaluated.

Can you elaborate? I thought that is true for all professions.
What about the case for software development ?

Programming is an interational language and skills can be evaluated by testing skiĺls more easily than other professions.
