@legalfalcon
Hi, Is there an official source that says IELTS results are valid 2 years from the test date and not result date?

As per IRCC:

Your language test results must be valid (written in the last two years) when you submit your application for permanent residence. If they expire, you should retake the test and provide us with valid results. Otherwise, your application will be rejected as incomplete or may be refused.

https://www.cic.gc.ca/english/helpcentre/questions-answers-by-topic.asp?st=29.4.2

It clearly states it should be written in the last two years. However, the result date is a few days after the test date, when your score is informed to you, and that is the date that will be taken into account, i.e. when you received the result.

Thanks, so you mean to say that it is 2 years from result date? bit confused.
Because as per the IRCC guideline, it says written in last 2 years) as you have stated above.

It is 2 years from the result date. The difference between test and result date is just 5-7 days in most cases.

Oh!
there are so many people on this forum that say it is the test date and not result date. So strange. Thank you for clarifying though. Hope IRCC was more clear on this.
