Wow! Yes, ma'am I knew that website. And you know what I get when I type CPA? "Canada Planing Page" "Canadian Payroll Association" "Canadian Physiotherapy Association" etc. Happy?

Try adding accountant to it as well. Google doesn't just work on one word. It works on bolean search terms as well. Actually most, if not all, search engines do.

I am not gonna excuse myself for that because everybody makes mistake when they type and submit the post without proofreading, or they did but nervous when they think about those people who will be picky at their grammatical errors! What is wrong with you? If you couldn't help me or answer my question, why are you picky me on this little thing? Yea... I understand your hardness when you study business. But it doesn't mean you can spur it all over me! And you know what? I AM NOT YOU! So I will be FINE!

Well, I believe in honesty and not lulling people in to unrealistic future plans. You asked for help and you got it. If you intend to apply to a university here you have to have a better command of the English language than you currently do, just to be accepted. A couple of typos is one thing. And no, nobody is perfect, not even Canadians.

I didn't say I study business. I said I am in a business writing class right now.

FYI, just to prove my point I did a google search and the link provided shows my search term and the results.

See how easy that was?

Of course it is easy when you know specifically what you are looking for. I don't even know what CPA stand for. Anyways, thank you for your help

Look at the link and the search term again. Does the search term mention accountant? The search term is

what is a cpa

Not even a questionmark. Google understands I am asking it a question and looks for various answers which it returns to me. The top ones include CPA and also the word accountant. Note that I did not put "accountant" in he search term. I simply typed in

what is a cpa

Looking at the results, logic would conclude that either of the top results relate to my question which was:

what is a cpa

So no, I didn't pretend I knew what I was looking for. On the contrary, I pretended I didn't know what I was looking for, what cpa stands for and I got results.

Alice, do not be discouraged. Your English is pretty good, and on forums we all make mistakes.
For ex., I do not think itstime meant ASS (butts :o) when he wrote "ass your English stands now" :D

But he is right in terms that to apply to the university program you have IELTS exam to pass . Usually the threshold for acceptance is 6.5 no less than 6.0 in each band.
If you read carefully the official site www.cic.gc.ca --"Immigration-Study" you will find out about IELTS, and you also could look at www.ielts.org
CPA - is a Certificated Professional Accountant .

Exactly! So, who are you to judge English? ;) Grammar nazi?

Both you and I have in the past pointed out bad English and also told people that they need to raise their IELTS.

Concerning your signature. Does anybody on the forum really care where you are from or what your gender is? :o ;D

I'm sick and tired of being addressed as dude/sir/buddy/bro or be asked "did you apply at VO in <insert city in India>"

It doesn't say anywhere that this forum is for men only, nor does it say that it is for Indians only.

I don't assume you are female (although your screen name suggests it) or are from India.

Do you really think that THAT awful English and Alice's English has something to compare? NO, it is not. So, how GOOD is her English level let IELTS to decide.

Well, you should think like Canadians :if you do not want to be asked- WRITE it in your signature. Do not blame other people. It is common in Canada to ask where you are from. What is your problem with that? ;)

My name may mean nothing for people of another culture. In Canada, there are a lot of human names that do not make any sense for me (in my culture :D), but it is not my business to judge.

And yes, if it is SO important for you to make people recognize your gender and country of origin do not make them guess but be polite and write them in your signature. What is your problem with that?
