Hi friends,
1) Anyone can tell me what is the Car rules of Canadian driving license. means its same as USA driving.
2) what is the speed mentioned in (i.e in Killometer KM or Miles system MI).
I have my toyota Camry new car and I think if I get PR then I will drive it to canada and I can save money too, because I already paid 3years installments from 5years loan. if I sold this car I loose my 3years installments and if I purchased new or another car then I have to spend more money on new purchase. My car I used only for work and my personal trips, I am alone the driver of this car so, I know well my car. and I dont like to purchase second hand car.
please all members share your views. I need answer on my above 2 query.
Thanks Guys & have fun...

1. I'm afraid you can't just drive it to Canada.
2. You have to export it from the US and you have to fax the title to Border 72 hours ahead. It appears you don't have clear title so you will have to have permission from the lender to export. Which is unlikely as if you fail to pay, they would be unable to seize the car in Canada. http://www.cbp.gov/xp/cgov/trade/basic_trade/export_docs/motor_vehicle.xml
3. You also have to import the car to Canada and it must be admissible see: www.cic.gc.ca You will need a recall letter in the US from the manufacturer also has to be inspected in Canada and you will probably need to have DRLs installed.
4. Canada is separate country, road rules are different in some aspects, also speed is in Km.

This is a helpful website. Some information is specific to Ontario.

Thanks PMM & Jes_on.
better to sale it. its some complecated and even my odometer showing digital Miles only, there are no km options.
thanks lots.

Dang, it's a Camry, I'd try to keep it if I were you :)

The miles/kilometers thing is no big deal (I brought one in, my car's odometer is in miles). It's not that uncommon to have cars imported from the US.

Yes, there's a lot of steps, paperwork involved, but it might be worth it. The big issue is the loan.
(A) can you pay off your loan before you land?
(B) if not, will the lender allow you to export the car?

Where are you in the application process?

I prepared all documents and I will submit it soon, I am make sure all stuffs before applying.
I cant pay loan so, I must have to export uhh.. good thats the later story, my brother is applied from italy he is now waiting for medical. I am applying next week.
Thanks for reply.
