What is the best way to show proof of funds for a student visa?

I’m running into an issue and I don’t know what to do. I have everything I need for my student visa, except I don’t know the best way for me to show proof of funds. I have the money don’t get me wrong, but I don’t wanna use a GIC account which is what my university recommended. I would love to open a cheqing account but doesn’t the IRCC prefer 4-6 months of bank statements? I don’t have 4-6 months to do this. What is my best option here??

So you don't need a Canadian bank account. Show the cash in foreign, personal bank accounts with statements over the last 4 months.
