It means your file is being reviewed by the immigration officer nad you will be contact for any shortfall .. n yes if they think your package is complete then they will issue re-med and passport request so hold on bro we will hear something good in the coming days..My ecase chaged to inprocess on May 16, 2012 ..

Dear Everyone , Please share your experiences as to what happened after your status changed to inprocess... I want the specific date on which the status changed and the next date when they requested for further documents, also please specify the nature of the documents ..

Hi there,

I got Acknowledgment of Letter Receipt via Email and they ask me to provide few things. I have submitted 3 weeks before but still my status shows "Application Received" even I get Acknowledgment letter on May 16, 2012

I hope they won't change status and give passport request.

Its was about 6 week when I send all the document to Islamabad and they start to review my file on 30th of May.So slow...........

If your case starts in 2006 so no one can figure out how long it will proceed.

My ecas status changed to In Process in April 13, 2012. It says we have started processing your application on April 10, 2012. Till now no news.Waiting for any response from VO..

In process just means it is sitting in the VO. Doesn't necessarily mean an officer is actually looking through your file. It could just be gathering dust on a desk. Ours said in process when they received it, and then 4 monthslater they actually began working on it.

Is it true? I don't think so. I think In process means they have started working on the file. For me My file transferred to Singapore january 4, 2012. They started processing April 10. Before that the status was "Application received".Sooo confusing...

How do you know it was 4 months later? When I log into ecas it shows me the date they started processing the file, so I would imagine that they are really working on it from that day on, if not, that would be disappointing

My stated in process on April 5 2012 and on April 20 my husband got a letter to go do his fingerprints to be sent to Canada. (He previously lived here) so a background check has to be done for him. It took 3 months after his file arrived in Jamaica for it to say IN Process on Ecas. So yes they are working on your file if in process pops up.

Others change to in process when the VO is actively working on your file, in which case completion is near. Your best bet is to review the experiences of others going through your visa office to see how it worked out for them. We would probably like it to mean that someone is actually working on our application but who knows what is really going on. In my case, they have my husband's passport for the last 3 months in New Delhi and it just shows Application received. So I'll be very happy if we get the mention In Process...
