About two months ago we sent out our spousal sponsorship package, but i didn;t get any progress after that.. no AR1 email, no DM1 email. not anything. since my husband is a born Canadian, so he doesn;t have a UCI. so we have nothing except the receipt number (IMM5401) to check
the status on the CIC website. we checked with IMM5401 and found nothing.

a week ago we called the CIC call center and today we got their emal.. they asked us to provide the following information before they check for us:

1. Surname – Exactly as it appears on the passport or identity document
2. Given name(s) – Exactly as it appears on the passport or identity document
3. Date of birth (YYYY-MM-DD)
4. Country of birth
5. Complete address (including the postal code). If the residential address is different from the mailing address, please provide both addresses.
6. Telephone number. If you have more than one contact number, please provide them all.
7. Client ID Number
8. Online application reference number
9. Type of application (work permit, study permit or visitor record)
10. Approximate date that the application was submitted

AND please describe the information you were looking for and the nature of the problem.

i don't understand 7 and 8.
what is the client ID number if we don't have UCI, FN or anything?
What is "Online application reference number"?

Thank you all!

it would appear that they didn't understand that you are asking about PR...
So if you haven't heard from CIC, you don't have an UCI, File Number or online application number.

If you're in Canada, call the number on the website. since your application has been received before the 5th of February, you can call and ask. They will ask (the sponsor should call) for your name etc, but they should be able to find your file with your surname only, and tell you what is going on.

Or - answer the email, explaining that you have applied for PR spousal sponsorship, and give both the applicant and the sponsor name - specifying which is which - they should be able to get back to you soon.

If you're outside of Canada and can not call the number that is on the website, then let me know and I'll dig up the phone number to call from abroad.

Good luck,
Sweden

Hi snowflake2012,

I'm another victim here! My application arrived at Mississauga on 30 January, and I haven't got an AOR till now!

I've got a call centre agent to write a note about this, to the Mississauga office. I emailed them too. I even contacted my MP too!

Hope to have some progress next week... =(. This is REALLY irritating!!!!!
