Hello.

I am just confused when this question popped up when I was filling up the online questionnaire:

1. What is your current immigration status in canada?

I only have two possible answers: visitor or temporary resident permit holder, but I am not sure which of these two. I always think I am just a visitor.

This is my second extension application, by the way.

Is the paper I got from my first extension application a temporary resident permit?

Thanks!!

I think it may depend on what country you come from? A visa waiver country is visitor whilst a country that isn't you have to apply for a Temporary Resident Visa. I might be wrong though.
I've only have visitor visa and visitor visa extension.

I've only have visitor visa and visitor visa extension.

I am from a visa waiver country. My first extension paper, at the bottom, the remarks says: Temporary Resident Status maintained..

So that's why I got confused, am I still applying as a visitor or as a Temporary Resident permit holder?

I just applied for the Extend stay in Canada as a visitor IMM5708. If that's what you did previously then you would be classed as a visitor

The correct response is "Visitor".

A Temporary Resident Permit is for people who are otherwise inadmissible to Canada due to criminality or other issues.

I think you should be Visitor Record or Temporary Resident.
Temporary Resident is different from Temporary Resident Permit

So you should choose Visitor for the questionnaire
