yes most of the universities have it compulsory u have to check with ur unversity.....its is an introduction to the university ....information about university is given like health services, plagiarism , laws , information about the city etc.

my classes are starting from 5th sept but i will reach there on 10 sept nd ISO is on 14 sept for late arriving students..
missing classes will be a problem or not???

i dont recommend missing classes but if u miss one class its should be ok. u could make up. As for is it ok legally it is u should be fine.
