This thread is to discuss the progress of AINP applicants or applications under H1B Visa applying to CIC. Has anyone received any notifications? We know that the Buffalo office closed and transferred files; however, the idea was to make the process faster. Why are all other Visa offices around the world answering except the one(s) in charge of US applicants? Any ideas???? What is the waiting time after medical exam received??? ??? We want to promote camaraderie among future Alberta Immigrants.

Hi panamio2000,

My AINP-H1B application was received at CIO on May 24, 2012 and they returned my application back to me asking for the birth certificates of mine and my wife. We had actually submitted consulate issued birth certificates initially, but they did not accept those certificates. I am planning to resubmit my application to CIO next week with no-birth certificates and parents affidavits.

Here are my timelines.

Application to Alberta: Aug 19, 2009
Nomination: March 01, 2012
Application to CIO: May 24, 2012
Docs Requested: June 25, 2012

Please share your time lines and keep updated.

Thanks,
Sarayu

Re: What is Happening AINP applying under H1B visa from 2011-2012?

Hello Sarayu,

Here is my timeline:
Application to Alberta under H1B: February 2009
Nomination: December 14, 2011
Application received by CIO NS: January 23 2012
Medical received: June 08 2012
After this I have heard nothing else from Ottawa CCP, I don't really know people applying from the US under our category is not getting additional responses.
In regard to your birth certificate problems, I would try to resubmit the application with copies of your birth certificates. I heard from someone else a long time ago that they do not accept birth certificates proofs from consulates or embassies; they want the copies or original documents from your country with the proper translation. If I were you I'll try to get at least copies from the original. Where are you from? Maybe a family member or a friend can get you another copy from your country. I honestly don't know if they will take copies with affidavit. I wish you the best of the lucks in this (long, but exciting) journey.
Home to hear from your a a prompt resolution to your problems. Take care,
Julio (panamio2000).

Hello Sarayu/ panamio,

I have also applied under the Alberta nominee program under the US visa category. Here is my timeline

I received my AINP approval in Jan 2012 and immediately applied to CIO-Sydney. I received MR in April 2012 and it shows medical received in May 2012. I have not received any response from buffalo or detroit or any other Visa office.

Is there a number we can call CIC up and talk about our application ?

AS fas as birth certificate goes, I send them a copy of my original birth certificate and they accepted it. I dont think they need originals.

Hi Dell,

Thanks for sharing your time lines. Wish you good luck. Don't worry, you should hear something soon.

Yes, you are right regarding the birth certificates. If we have birth certificate from home country, that's the best document to provide.
I don't know whether there is a contact number to call CIO directly. But you can post at one of the threads "Tracking PNP April 2012 application to CIO (Nova Scotia)" on this forum. There are many seniors, some one will surely help you.

AINP USH1B ALSO.

There is no evidence that CIO purposely singles AINP USH1B out and delays the service. The processing for all of CA and US applicants are stuck now, regardless the application category.

Hi bkd1969,
You are right. I don't think CIO purposely singles AINP US H1B, it seems that everyone applying from the US has been put in hold; with the exception of applicants from Quebec. I guess it has to do with the fact that Buffalo closed and maybe the new offices dealing with the applications in the US are not ready, or have not clue yet how to handle PR applicants. Let hope for the best buddy.

Hi Dell,
The best thing to do, as sarayu mentioned before, is to wait for their answer. If after 120 days you have heard nothing, they advise everyone to contact them by e-mail. On other note, you did the right thing sending copies of birth certificates; that is enough unless otherwise the ask you for original later (which I don't think so). Where in Alberta are you planing moving to? Regards

Hello all AINP - US H1B holder applicants,

I am thinking of having a track sheet for the above mentioned category. Also, it would be a nice idea to keep in touch with each other during and after the application process. The idea is to share pertinent information regarding application issues, job search, housing, etc. in Alberta.

I am already in contact with 3 applicants:

Koolkarmaguy, Calgary bound, BKD1969.

If you guys provide me your application timeline, I put together all the information in a track sheet. Please let me know what you think.

Good luck guys.

@ SHARUU,

I had my application returned as well as I produced the Houston embassy issued BC. I emailed them and they replied back with the following:

Dear Sir/Madam:

Your secondary school certificate with your name, birth date and parent/parents name is acceptable.

Please note: case specific enquiries must include the full name of the principal applicant and their date of birth. Thank you.

I resubmitted my application with my STD 10 certificate that showed my name, DOB and my father's name only. They accepted my application. Else, you can submit affidavits obtained by your parents in your native country. Hope this helps.

Edmontonbound,
Your suggestion is a great idea, count me in.
This is my timeline
Here is my timeline:
Application to Alberta under H1B: February 9 2009
Nomination: December 14, 2011
Application received by CIO NS: January 23 2012
Medical received: June 08 2012

I'm with you man, I think the more people we meet and friendships we can make before heading north the better. Let's invite all those moving to Alberta as AINP to this forum and talk about our expectations, our possible settling places (areas), our job search, etc...Whatever might strengthen or promote friendships...As I once heard: when there is not family, friends and neighbors become one. Again, excellent idea Edmontonbound...

bkd1969 & Sarayu,

Do you have additional people interested in Edmontonbound's idea?? I think is a great suggestion. Keep in touch...

Hello panamio,

I send them an email after 120 days and they just send me a generic response that i have pasted below. I had a direct contact number to call them but it appears that they have disconnected that and now it is accepting calls only from inside Canada. I think we can expect some delays to our case since the buffalo office has been closed and the detroit office hasn't fully gone functional yet. Its been a long time since I have started this application, almost 3 years now and still waiting. AINP part took forever.

Dear Sir/Madam,

Due to the high volume of correspondence received, we are unable to provide a status update to you. The officer responsible for your file will contact you if any action is required from you. Please note the standard processing times for applications for permanent residence within the category in which you have applied are available on our website . In the meantime, please ensure your information is kept up-to-date, particularly if there is a change in your marital status or in the event of a birth or death in your family. You must also advise this office of any change to your contact information, such as a change in your residential or e-mail address.

Well Dell, I guess we have to keep our expectation under control and get a bigger container for our patience. Did you read Edmontonbound suggestion for our group? I think is a great idea. Make sure you send him your timeline. Take care

I might head over to Calgary after I get my PR, atleast thats the plan for now. Just wondering, how are you guys managing with your US visa's are you all on H1B and have stable jobs ? any chances of getting green card ever ?
