What is B File Number (Bxxxxxxxxx)

Today I called CIC and they give me my B number (BXXX-XXX-XXX).
What this number means ?

Hi Sir
I have applied for immigration in 2006 and was able to check my status on website but now I am unable to access. I called CIC they told me that they are transferring cases to London Visa office thats the reason y I am being unable to access it but that person was not sounding confident enough. I received a letter of continued interest in Last February I didnt replied to it as they already mentioned in the letter that if we dont hear from you we would start processing your case and your fee would not be refunded I was in states and thought that there isnt need of sending them a reply as they will start processing my case.

Dial 00-1-613-9444-000 Slect option 1-2-1-2-1-0(zero for agent)

They will ask you about your cleint id, date to application sent to cic, received by cic....your main concern is with your 1st and last name do not confuse it with surname, family name...and 2nd your date of birth.
