AIP? That was for students of september intakes mostly who submitted thier visa apps before 15 sept (and ppl who had applied earlier going all the way back to jan and march folks who hadnt been given any response due to covid shutdown or the country where VACs were closed). It was a first stage approval towards a study permit but not a guarantee . Regardless it's not relevant anymore except for those who were issued AIPs in august and september.
API means Application Programming Interface and AIP means Approval in Principle
