what is a payment link people are talking about?

I have seen many people writing about a payment link. I am a first time applicant and dont have much idea about the payment link. Can you please elaborate on what is a payment link? Also, after paying the fees on IRCC's website, I am not done and there are further steps involved?

The payment link is for submitting the passport for stamping. In India, Visa Application Centers are not open, so they have arranged 2 way courier services to facilitate picking the passports up from applicants' houses, delivering it to the high commission and returning it to the applicants' houses.

Once you receive a Passport Request Letter in GCKey, you need to go to the VFS Global website and fill in a form, attaching this letter to request a payment link for this courier service. That is what everyone is waiting for.

I guess I did not explain properly. The offices are open only for biometrics. They are not allowing applicants to submit their passports in person. You need to apply for the payment link ASAP in case you got your Passport Request Letter already.

Thanks a sharing this with me. I wasnt aware that one more step has been added in Visa process. I got confused because my Sister is going to UK and she has been asked for a in person visit to VFS, so i got confused.

The rules could be different for UK. This is for Canada, as far as I know.
