Hi,

I have been searching for many hours on the Canada immigration website for the correct Permanent Resident App's related to applying for a PR Card from outside Canada for people who already have a temporary visa. All the apps that I find state fro use from inside Canada only.

We have consulted 3 immigration lawyers 1 refusing to give us the app #'s without first being paid. 2 others disagree on the app #'s both recommended apps state at the bottom of the webpage that they are for use from inside Canada only.

Immigration BKK and Canada do not accept telephone questions regarding Immigration. BKK Immigration email says it will be upwards of 30 days before they reply to an email.

So what are the correct applications for PR Card for someone that has a Temporary Visa applying for a PR Card from outside Canada married to a Canadian citizen ex-pat?

You cannot apply for a PR Card from outside of Canada. Have your spouse landed with his/her permanent resident application approval?

Once him/her landed, then the PR card will be mailed to a local address supplied. This is for the first PR card after becoming a PR. If he/she already has been a PR for a while, then renewal for PR card can only be done within Canada.

You must be mistaken. 3 different immigration lawyers have said no problem but we have to pay them to obtain the correct IMMapp#'s.

NOte: all possible applicable applications I have found on the immigration Canada website to date have a statement at the bottom of the webpage saying "for use from within Canada".

I am a Canadian Citizen expat. We reside in Bangkok. My spouse (by legal marriage) of 10 years currently has a temporary resident visa.

There must be a set of applications that are applicable to our situation.

I am A Canadian Citizen and my spouse already has a temporary visa and we currently reside outside Canada.

As 3 different immigration lawyers say they can process the application while we are still residing outside Canada there must be a set of applications that are applicable to our situation.

You can't just apply for a PR card. You need to actually sponsor your spouse for PR. I suggest you invest a lot more time to actually research immigration.

OIC. That's why OP said that spouse has temporary visa!
I guess OP needs to read up on the process. No way to go all the way to the end of process and apply for a PR card.
@canuck_in_uk is correct you need to find out how to sponsor your spouse to become a PR. And that can be done outside of Canada.

O.K. So you do not know which application can be used for application from outside Canada for a PR Card by a person currently holding a temporary resident visa. Sponsorship by me, her husband, is part of the application process.

Does someone actually know the correct IMMapp#'s and related package? By package, I mean the checklist and the sponsorship application.

No. We are trying to tell you that you are NOT applying for a PR card for her.

She cannot get a PR card before you apply for spousal sponsorship and that get approved.

Read the guide and depending on where you are applying from, there are different packages and guideline. And the package should point to the IMM forms. (There are multiple forms for the application package and a checklist for all the supporting documents you need to include)

As @YVR123 is saying, you cannot just "get a PR card."

You have to sponsor your spouse for permanent resident status. The link in @YVR123's post above tells you where to find the various forms - there are a few.

The sponsorship application takes 6-12+ months. Once it is approved, your spouse will be granted a new visa to travel to Canada.

When your spouse arrives in Canada ("lands") they will process the PR card application, which can only be completed from within in Canada.

You must be a landed permanent resident prior to applying for the card.

Seriously, pay attention. She CAN'T apply for a PR card. I very clearly already posted the link to the sponsorship application in my previous post.
