Hi,

I havent found any information on this:

What happens if I apply with my partner and she fails the health check?

Can I still go and she can join me later or we are both refused?

Tx.

In this case you can stiill continue to Canada but your partner have to stay back and can't travell to canada later on and join you.

inadmisibility of one person means inadmisibility of all person. you cannot continue if your partner is fail in medical examination.

I would like to have some more senior's comments at this issue but as i have studied the medical related law...That if your spouse or any other family member included in your application fail to fulfill medical requiremnts, then she/he can't join you for going to canada and not at later stage.

Ra00 is correct. It is clearly mentioned in the manual that all dependents accompanying/non accompanyning the principle must pass the medical tests to be eligible for the PR visa.
cic.gc.ca says (copy-paste from the website)
"Medical exam requirements for permanent residents

You must pass a medical examination before coming to Canada. Your dependants must also pass a medical examination even if they are not coming with you.

Applications for permanent residence will not be accepted if that person’s health:

* is a danger to public health or safety; or
* would cause excessive demand on health or social services in Canada."

Regards
joy

Even if you decide to list your partner as not accompanying you, your partner still has to pass the medical in case you want to sponsor them later.

Leon, Ra00 and Joy4U are all correct.

Hot-Lier,

Please be a little more responsible. If you are not 100% sure please say its your opinion. Wrong information can totally screw someone's application. The others are right. CIC manual is very clear on this topic.

Actually the question is if (For example). I am the applicant and my wife is dependent in my application ....After the medical results , i am clear and my wife got some problem.at this point , will we both rejected or only my wife to join me in Canada.

One fails, all fail.

Thanks for correcting me........i really had a great miss-understanding in this area.

See 6.4 of the FSW manual

"All family members, accompanying or not, are required to be examined unless an officer decides
otherwise. Normally, any inadmissible family member would render the principal applicant
inadmissible as well [A42; R23]. There are, however, two exceptions to this rule. The first is the
separated spouse of the applicant. The second is when the applicant or an accompanying family
member does not have legal custody of their dependent child or when they are not empowered to
act on behalf of that child, by virtue of a court order or written agreement or by operation of law."
