What if I do not know my half-brothers/sisters?

In the "Additional Family Information (IMM5406E)" form, "SECTION B", I am required to provide information (Name, Relationship, DOB, Place of birth, Marital status, Present address) for my brothers and sisters (including half - and step-brothers and sisters).

I am sure I have half-brothers and half-sisters, however I do not know any of my half-brothers and half-sisters. I do not know my father either.

Considering that I cannot provide the information requested in the form, how do I complete the form? Can I simply write "Unknown" on the form?

I do not have an official answer to your question, but I am sorry that you do not know your family members. If you put "Unknown" in the box, I would include a cover letter with an explanation similar to what you have provided here. Perhaps some Seniors will have other suggestions for you as well. Let's bump this to the top of the list again and hope you get more replies. Good Luck.

I was in the same situation as you. I wrote a note saying that I did not know the names or wherabouts of my half siblings. It was accepted and my application went through. So I don't think you'll have a problem. Good luck with your application.

With the new NOC list though, I am apparently no longer eligible for the Permanent Resident of Canada programme

I will now have to consider applying via Quebec
