hey guys,

Some advice would be appreciated, as i am very confused.

i am applying for an extension of a work permit, without a LMO, so i know it will be rejected. i am only doing this so i can work for another 6-8 weeks and earn some money before i have to stop working completely.

my question is-what happens when i get my rejection letter? i spoke to CIC and i got 2 answers from 2 people. i THINK i have 90 days to apply for another type of visa-ie a visitors visa. if i don't do this, i have to leave canada in a matter of days.

can anyone clarify this for me-is this correct? once i get my rejection letter, can i legally stay in canada whilst applying for a visitors visa?

Should i apply for my visitors visa before i get my rejection letter?

thanks in advance!

You can apply for a restoration of status/change of status if still within the 90 days of status expiry, if you get a refusal. But you must have a really valid reason why you want to remain longer in Canada.

hi job_seeker.

thanks so much for you response. do you think I should apply for a visitors visa at the same time i apply for my extension of my work permit ie Now?

thanks
