I have applied for my parents immigration in 2015. In December 2016 we got email for medical, PCC and right of landing fees. Everything was done and submitted in December (Before Christmas). I have linked application with CIC and following is the update.
Application status We received your application. We will send you a message when there is an update or if we need more information from you.
Review of eligibility We are reviewing whether you meet the eligibility requirements.
Review of medical results You passed the medical exam.
Review of additional documents Not applicable.
Interview You do not need an interview. We will send you a message if this changes.
Background check We are processing your background check. We will send you a message if we need more information.
Final decision Your application is in progress. We will send you a message once the final decision has been made.
I want to know how long it will take for the background check to be completed. I'm seeing this status from last 3 weeks (background check in progress) and I guess this is last step before they request passport for visa. Can they ask for any documents at this stage.
I hope somebody takes time to answer my question.
