What happens if i get Passport request while outside Canada?

Im currently a work permit holder applying under CEC. If im travelling outside Canada when i receive the passport request, can i come back and re-enter canada with my existing work permit and temporary resident visa and then submit the passports to Ottawa? How much time do they give you to submit the passports?

Alternatively, can i submit the passport to the canadian embassy in my home country if i receive passport request while im there?

On the PPR email, it will have instruction to explain how you should do if you are not in canada. Wait until ppr email arrives and you will see it
