hi,

i would appreciate if people on forum who have got PPR and have a canadian born child on file can answer my question.

For visa exempt country PPR approval leads to a electronic counterfoil and COPR document, though for canadian born child who has a canadian passport do we get any document??

I am wondering because if they dont give anything what is the point to charge 150 dollar for that child as "Permanent Resident Application Fee for Child"

thanks

Hi

Nothing is sent for your Canadian child and you shouldn't have paid any fee for them. It will be eventually be refunded.

thanks for coming back, the refund statement is what you are logically guessing or this is how it happens for all cases that they charge and then refund? Because its few months since i paid and i havent seen any refund

There isn't a point, you are not supposed to include Canadian citizens in your application : ) But IRCC doesn't explain very well what to do in your situation, so I would expect that a lot of people have made the same mistake. I presume you submitted proof of your child's Canadian citizenship when you applied, so it will be (eventually) corrected.

thanks for the response, probably you are right but the EE profile and form after ITA explicitly wants you to define all family members and also has dedicated document upload section for minors who are already canadian passport holders. Considering i have two kids one born in Canada and other born outside i had two very clearly distinct document upload sections. So i dont personally think that you can avoid covering them in your application.

Anyhow, i would wait for couple of weeks and if i dont see a refund i would generate a support request.

it seems this is never ending story...

COPR document mentions in dependent/accompanying members only my elder child (who doesnt have a canadian passport) but not my younger one (canadian citizen)...from earlier responses i understand there is no COPR for canadian born children (which is logical and makes sense though list of accompanying members is sort of like trick treatment). Is it same for other people who got COPR and have a canadian child on file (and not shown in COPR)??

Only dependents included in the application are listed on the COPR. Your Canadian child is not included and therefore NOT listed on your COPR.

ok, thanks for coming back. I presume you are yourself a COPR holder with this situation or know someone firsthand...
