Hi all

So we are going to get married February 2014 but I need to pack in 4 weeks to travel out there as a tourist.

I have been looking over the Service Alberta website and it says: "Both parties must provide their parents' full names and place of birth" does this just mean I write it down on their form or do I need to provide some kind of proof?

Thank you.

No you do not need to provide any proof for your parents details. You just need to mention it on the form. However you will need to provide 2 pieces of identity for yourself. The whole process of obtaining a licence should not last more than 15-20 minutes.

Howdy,

My wife and I where married in Calgary just a couple of years ago, all we provided was a drivers license and a credit card for myself, and a passport and her visa for her. And she was only here on a work permit visa at the time.

She is from the Philippines and I am BC native. No problems what so ever, unless you count them screwing up a name on the paper work which took a couple of months to fix:)
