Hi everyone. I am being sponsored by my brother under the 'other relative' category. He's lives in Canada and I am all d way in the caribbean. We're mailing in the documents, so I've completed my set of documents, signed them and I'm gonna mail them to him.
However, were not clear on how we should go about the signing of the 'Application to sponsor document-the IMM 1344', which basically has to be done by my brother-the sponsor-but both of us are required to sign this document.
Hence, I want to verify if (1) our 'actual penned' signatures are required-this will mean that after completing the form, he has to print the document(or the page where he is required to sign and then mail it to me in the caribbean, after which ill have to sign it and then mail it back to him in canada or (2)in the interest of time if it will be acceptable if he can sign the document, scan the signed page and email the signed page to me in the Caribbean, and then ill print, sign and mail the page back to him in canada-this will mean he's signature would be a scanned/photocopied one and NOT ACTUAL PEN INK.

I know ive written quite a bit, so basically short, I'm asking wether or not a scanned signature is acceptable on the I'M 1344 form? Thank u guys.

Well you could do Option 2.....but IRCC advice that you hand sign the forms.........IRCC may accept the forms with scanned signature, but if for whatever reason they decide to ask for you to re-submit them with hand written signature.....that may cause delay......which you don't want....

Option1....If you mail the hand signed documents by registered courier........in a few days your brother will receive them just in time.

May take a few days to courier forms between brothers..........will advice that you hand sign the forms........not scanned..

After you validate the forms to generate barcodes, print the form......sign the form in ink......

Must be wet signature. Signing electronically for initial submission is not accepted.
