that I can sponsor my spouse to come to canada
I am a canadian citizen and have been here for 10 years
I have no criminal background
I am wealthy
I'm also a citizen in my spouses country since I was born there
I meet every single requirement
what are the chances they will accept my sponsorship? like 50%?
thanks

Just a few hours ago, you posted you were both "16". As a 16-year old, you don't meet every requirement, you must be 18 years of age to sponsor.

I would not worry about that now. I would concentrate on the relationship. If after 2 years you are still together and want to get married or are married then you can revisit this issue. To be honest, you are pretty young and your relationship is too new to think about spousal sponsorship.

A wealthy 16 year old? You mean your parents are wealthy?

hello truesmile what can you say to this since the topic here is about chances..."I have a friend whose husband is a Canadian then married a Filipina in Ilocos Philippines last year and now trying to sponsor his wife to Canada. THis guy has a criminal record last 10 years ago for trying to kiss a woman only and got convicted of sexual assault. The woman is not a relative but their worker in a restaurant. Okay, he didnt go to prison but under probation only and he served it. Like I said that was 10 years ago. Will this affect his sponsorship???Can he sponsor at all? Please anybody has the same case a sponsor that has a criminal record???" thanks for the help.

Was the husband convicted in Canada? And if so, did he apply for rehabilitation and finish the time?

yes he was convicted in Canada 12 years ago and was under probation for a year. he finished the probation already after convicted a year after. Does he still need the rehabilitation?

I think so but I'm not sure. Hopefully someone more knowledgeable can confirm one way or another.
